This weekend, May 3, Green Grand Prix is scheduled at the roads of Watkins Glen in New York. In this race, the world’s most efficient Hybrids and Alternative Fueled Vehicles (AFV) will compete. Green Grand Prix is a 60-mile race created by Bob Gillespie, a hybrid owner and the only official SCCA Time-Speed-Distance road rally for AFVs and Hybrids in the U.S.
Four years ago, Green Grand Prix is created by Bob Gillespie to provide people an immediate view at alternative transportation. Since the first time it is presented, numerous people have realized the benefits of green power so, this year the event will be made bigger than previous years.
The International Racing Research Center and the Glen Region of the Sports Car Club will host the fourth annual Green Grand Prix in Watkins Glen, New York. The said event will feature the Doris Bovee memorial Road Rally for Hybrid and Alternative Fueled Vehicle in a 60-mile course in Finger Lakes region in New York. Hybrid and AFV owners will gather in the said rally for entertaining and thrilling educational event, focusing on energy independence and a safer environment. The International Motor Racing Research Library will benefit from this event because the proceeds of the activity will be given to it.
Aside from the road rally, there would be a display of “green” vehicle and sustainable energy, a Speaker Forum, and a gallery of entries from student AFV design contest. In the Speaker Forum, Tim Treadwell, Juice Energy’s Environmental Director will talk on renewable energy markets. Juice Energy is one of the sponsors of this year’s event. It is a New York based electricity supplier with an emphasis on renewable sources.

The association of Juice Energy with Green Grand Prix started when they announce their partnership with “The Glen”, the renowned Watkins Glen International raceway and one of the first tracks worldwide to have green initiatives.
