Last July, Californians were mandated to keep their drive hands- free. Those who will be caught using cell phones while driving will be fined $50. Several states also join the campaign in California in cracking down distractions on driving. New York, Washington, D.C., Connecticut, and New Jersey joined in the campaign. Texting while on the road is strictly prohibited in some states but still several distractions are continuously affecting drivers on their ride. All these must also be cracked down but how?
There are several studies conducted on the factors that distract drivers in their driving. Some of these show that cell phone is not the problem but the conversation. Other car devices that are products of technological advancements are sometimes cause of distractions like satellite radio and likewise the latest drive-through window where people often buy their foods and then make their cars as dinner table. An estimated 10% to 20% of all meals eaten in the U.S. are in cars. Further, some people read and put make-up while on the road. Some couples also exchange their blows or are busy with their romantic businesses. Sleep however is the biggest distraction of all.
Indeed, all of these distractions like can be eliminated if only people are more cautious. Is you feel sleepy, and then don’t drive. If you are starving, stop first and eat. Maintaining of your safety is much important than anything else.
